In an industry where one’s success depends on whom you sound like, Sino Sikat breaks musical stereotypes with their own concoction of home grown music inspired by sincerity, purity & honesty through music.
Their music is an orgy of jazz, soul, funk, rock, & sexy groovy beats matched with unparalleled skill. They are driven and intense in their craft, which shows in their live performances and they are influenced by the past and inspired by the future. Sinosikat will Rock your Soul!
A lot has happened since PinoySoul band Sinosikat released their debut album three years ago, and they have proven to be quite a force in the music industry, wowing audiences both underground and in the mainstream, local & international, young & old. With a string of number one hits, the band has garnered prestigious awards & endorsements.
In 2007, singer Kat Agarrado bagged the NU 107 Rock Awards Vocalist of the Year title, besting other prominent performers such as Bamboo, Mark Abaya of Kjwan & Ebe Dancel of Sugarfree. It was no stretch then that in last year’s Awit Awards the band earned three titles, Best World/Alternative Music, Best Jazz Recording, and People’s Choice for Favorite Group, racking up recognition points for their critically acclaimed debut album. Kat also recently won Wave 89.9’s 1st Urban Music Awards’ 2009 Style Icon of the Year title, proving that the band’s cultural stamp goes beyond the boundaries of music.
Sinosikat then released their highly anticipated 2nd album under Warner Music Philippines in 2009. The new album had 6 nominations for the recent Awit Awards and features 11 tracks. They went on to receiving the Best Jazz Recording as well as the best arrangement for Mr. Musikero (Pwede Ba?). It is a colorful combination of Soul jazz, funk grooves & arena ready ballads. The band continues to explore different palettes to produce music that is fresh & challenging. They are as well continuously inspiring the new breed of Filipino musicians with their music & their style as they now explore the successes of being independent artists.
